Guess Who's Back?

Well it's been a VERY long time since I've updated with JediSource news; almost two months if you can believe it! I decided it was about time to let you know what's going on around here.

So, with that, I'll start with the update I just did a few minutes ago. JediSource's main homepage just got a facelift! I decided this not only to fit better with the layouts of the rest of the pages and sections, but also to serve our guests (that's you guys) better. I added a few things to simplify for me as well so it's all good.

In other news Pizza the Hutt ate himself today.

No just kidding. Other than that, the most recent things I can think up are that my beloved SW Forums are now back up and running after a brutal virus attack! Much thanks to our wonderful admin Viper for clearing up that problem in the past couple weeks.

Also, I have mostly been concentrating on the news around here but I have started the creation of many sections including the Videos section, the completion of archiving the old news around here into our News Archive, which you will now find links for, and last of all the finishing of the News Channels page and appropriate news pages to follow.

In the days ahead when I'm not busy working, I plan to implement an updated news system that will make many things easier for us (Chris and I) here with news posting. Also look foward to some picture galleries opening up soon; most specifically Revenge Of The Sith galleries!

Hello anybody reading this bloody thing. I decided to be Australian today. Just Kidding. I just wanted to inform everyone of my recent inactivity with JediSource site progression and development. (I love making things sound more complicated than they are!)

I have been on vacation in the great non-state capital of the US, Washington DC, visiting some family who moved there recently, hence the lack of updates. So umm yeah... I've been here since Thursday before midday and it's been great. Much to see and do.... I love all of the Museums... especially considering they are all free!

So yeah, I will be returning to working on JediSource ASAP when I get home. My flight back to the great state of Michigan is on Tuesday but I will still have some things to take care of all this week. I'm completely booked for now.

So until next time MTFBWY and don't be too pissed! Much more Star Wars content will be added again soon.

Fonts Section Now Up-And-Running!

Greetings again everyone. JM here just letting everyone know that the BRAND NEW Star Wars Fonts section is now open and actually has been for the past couple of days!

Little did I know how popular Star Wars fonts actually were! Just in the few days the new stuff has been up, one font has already been downloaded a whopping 35 times! The new download counters are working flawlessly as well as the rating system, although that hasn't had as much success with visitors yet. But hopefully soon!

Oh, and thanks to all you who actually read this thing... If there is anybody.

Section Updates & Getting Things Working

I haven't actually updated in here with what I've been doing lately, but I have in fact updated the Characters section, now with the option to sort the character listings in a few different ways; By first name, last name, affiliations, or by their first appearance.

Also updated are the actual character pages, complete with more vital stats such as affiliation, weapon of choice, homeworld, species, and more! There is now a "Related" navbar in the left navigation bar that lists other characters, organizations, ships, battles, and weapons that may be related in some way to them. In some cases there are also off-site links to places on the web dealing with that character. Many other things are still being worked on and completed to my liking also.

Additionally, I am implementing a rating system into the site, and that is currently included on new character pages as well as in the updated "Fonts" section. Check out this link for an example of the new character page and scroll to the bottom to check out the new rating system!

Please keep in mind none of the new stuff is finished and nearly all the links listed in the "Characters" section WILL NOT WORK. Only a remote few actually work.

Upcoming Updates

Hello everyone, JM here of course with the latest updates to JediSource, as well as some upcoming updates to look foward too.

First up is the update that you guys will not see unless you are a regular commentor, which we don't have unfortunately. This update includes a new version of the 'News Droid' as I decided to call it, completed by the new look of JediSource and very soon a couple more new features.

As for the upcoming updates for JediSource, the first will most likely be the Characters section and character pages. While not all the characters listed in the newly designed Characters section will work from a start, I will be making an effort to update with new characters as often as possible. I think fans will enjoy the updated looks of characters section as well as the individual character pages.

Lastly, will most likely be the Star Wars Fonts section, which I have been working on recently and whose look and has been updated. This section will include all the Star Wars related fonts that are available for download as well as possibly a rating system to rate each font and download counters to see how many times each font has been downloaded.

JediSource Designs Updated

Hey everyone, just updating to tell you guys that as you may or may not have noticed I have updated the main header to the new look as well as the side menus and their images. Also added was some nice streaming Aurebesh text running down the length of the sidebar. First one to figure out what it says gets $100 bucks!

Just kidding.

If you all must know and don't feel like pulling out the ol' Aurebesh alphabet, it says JediSource's very own - "Star Wars to the Extreme"! Happy now?

Curiosity killed the cat. Remember that.

JediSource Updates Gone to Hell

Well, it came down to a hard decision last week. My computer had some ... problems and it ended up being a complete deader, despite my many, many attempts at bringing it back to life to save JediSource's many updates.

This of course didn't work as you can probably imagine by the name of this update. I ended up having to reformat my hard drive losing months and months of work on JediSource. A very unfortunate turn of events. I had many sections nearly complete and updated designs and features on nearly all of them.

There are a couple fortunate things, if you can even call them that. The first is that I had already implemented the translation coding into the header of the site as well as a brand new banner rotator and a few other things. The second is that I did manage to save the basic new design for the pages and did not lose the avatars section, as I had uploaded that right before the crash.

Wish my luck in the rebuilding process.
